ABOUT TARYN MALZARD

"My first encounter with pastels was when I was 12 years old and joined my first 'adult' art class. The lure of painting in this media has never waned and I hope you enjoy viewing the sample of my work featured on this website.”

"You will find that my artworks border on realism and the subjects I choose to paint are endless. I modestly admit, that I have won several awards and prizes and I have been featured in the Australian Artist Magazine on two occasions, one of those being the front cover. I regularly exhibited locally and interstate and often have work on display at cafés and galleries within the Hawkesbury and Blue Mountains areas.”

“A career highlight in March 2005 was my selection as a finalist for the Gosford Regional Gallery's, "Emerging Artists" Exhibition where only 9 young artists state-wide were invited to exhibit.”

"In recent years, I have enjoyed immense satisfaction in teaching weekly drawing, pastel art classes and weekend workshops from my studio. Teaching became even more a pleasure, when in early 2005 my family relocated to our quaint little 'School House' (built in 1878) which is nestled in the foothills of the NSW Blue Mountains."
